Dr. Janda (the surgeon who worked on my shoulder) gave me a good report when i visited him on Friday.  I did not expect to hear it, but he said I can start swimming! After fixing my torn supraspinatus,  torn labrum, humeral bone spur and cleaning out all the scar tissue, Dr. Janda was pretty emphatic that within 2 months of rehab and using my shoulder as much as i can tolerate, it will be as good as new.
Needless to say, this was music to my ears, and I look forward to swimming in Florida next weekend.

However, I will still be nursing the tendonosis in my hip, and although it is a definite setback for my training and preparation, I look forward to growing our triathlon team.  Kelly Fletcher and I are working hard get ready for the Brighton Tri Club's (working name for now) 2nd season off and "triing",and one that we both anticipate to be awesome! We have a few sponsors lined up but are always looking for more, and if you are in the Livingston County area we would love to have you join.  As much as I love to compete, it is also a joy to coach and encourage other athletes, and that is what i am looking forward to now as i continue to rest.
